Popular Muslim YouTube star calls for a boycott of Delta Airlines — here's why
December 21, 2016
A YouTube star with more than 1 million subscribers is angrily denouncing Delta Airlines and asking his followers to boycott the company after he was asked to leave a flight.
Adam Saleh captured his protest as he was escorted out and posted it to his Twitter account:
In the video he says that someone is uncomfortable with his speaking Arabic, and he's asked to leave over that simple objection. He doesn't take the order very well.
"We spoke a different language on the plane and now we're getting kicked out. ... Look, Delta airlines is kicking us out because we spoke a different language." As he raises his voice in protest, the other passengers can be heard in the background, mocking him saying, "Bye!"
He continues: "I cannot believe my eyes. I cannot believe it. I spoke a word — a different language — and you feel uncomfortable?"
Saleh then claimed that a "racist" passenger cursed at him after he spoke Arabic.
The tweet garnered more than 24,ooo retweets in the hour after it was posted, and at press it time had more than 105,000 retweets.
Saleh posts pranks to his YouTube account and regularly gets over 1 million views on videos. His followers are already supporting his cause on social media:
It looks like Delta is going to have a social media disaster on its hands.
