Festive bank robber hands out Christmas treats during heist

Police in Memphis, Tennessee, are searching for a man who robbed a bank Wednesday while wearing a Santa mask.

The man entered Memphis City Employees Credit Union Wednesday morning wearing the mask, complete with a white beard, red and white trademark Santa hat, and a red sweater.

Witnesses said the pilfering Santa did not arrive without Christmas spirit, handing out candy canes to bank employees and customers and even wishing them a Merry Christmas.

After passing out the holiday treats, he walked up to a bank teller and promptly handed her a note demanding money. The thief implied he had a weapon but did not display it.

Memphis Police Department released surveillance footage, which can be seen below via WMC-TV:

Bad Santa received an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the premises on foot. Surveillance video caught him walking down the street sans reindeer and sleigh.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
