McDonald's tweet calls Trump a 'disgusting excuse of a President,' praises Obama ... and disappears

A tweet from McDonald's official Twitter account Thursday morning called Donald Trump a "disgusting excuse of a President," praised former President Barack Obama and made fun of Trump's "tiny hands."

Then about 20 minutes after it was first posted around 8 a.m. Central Time — and pinned to the top of the @McDonaldsCorp page — the tweet disappeared, the Chicago Tribune reported.

McDonald's later noted on its Twitter page Thursday morning that "Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this."

Needless to say, the folks at the Oak Brook, Illinois, corporate office aren't "loving it."

UPDATE 9:21 p.m. ET: McDonald's on Thursday sent TheBlaze the following update on the Trump-related tweet: "Based on our investigation, we have determined that our Twitter account was hacked by an external source. We took swift action to secure it, and we apologize this tweet was sent through our corporate McDonald’s account."
