These days, bipartisanship isn't very common. That didn't stop two former presidents from opposing political parties from having a pleasant on-camera moment recently.
Former President Bill Clinton paid a visit to his predecessor, former President George H.W. Bush, in Houston over the weekend.
Bush and his wife, former First Lady Barbara Bush, currently reside in a suburb of the Texas city.
“Great to spend time with @GeorgeHWBush & Mrs. Bush in Houston today. We caught up about kids, grandkids, old times and new times," Clinton tweeted.
The 42nd president then revealed in a photo the gift he gave to his 92-year-old predecessor.
"And socks,” Clinton added.

One of the pairs of socks seen in the photo is green with pictures of dogs. Another is blue with images of bumblebees.
The elder Bush is known for his love of socks. He has often been spotted wearing his signature footwear. The Republican National Committee has even sought to cash in on Bush's love for socks by selling "limited edition" bright, colorful leggings on its website.

It's not the first time the two former presidents have lit up social media over socks, though.
In September 2013, Clinton tweeted about their "annual lunch" at the Bush family's summer home in Maine.
"Enjoyed my annual lunch with President and Mrs. Bush in Maine. Envious of his 'western cactus'-themed socks.#sockswag," Clinton tweeted.

Jim McGrath, a spokesman for the 41st president, said in an email to the New York Daily News that Bush has "for years" worn colorful socks, but that only recently has anyone really noticed.
"[I]t has been most noticed really ever since he has been depending on wheelchairs for mobility — exposing his ankles," McGrath said.
