Martha Stewart faces backlash after allegedly disrespecting President Trump with vulgar gesture

Martha Stewart felt the wrath of conservative America after an Instagram photo she purportedly shared (and subsequently deleted) of her herself flipping a middle finger at a portrait of Donald Trump went viral.

Many commenters asked her to re-post the photo featuring her one-finger salute to the president, though it's unconfirmed whether or not the photo in question was photoshopped.

The image, in which Stewart posed at a museum between portraits of Trump and rapper Snoop Dogg, did not go unnoticed by her fans.

While the photo does not appear on Stewart's account, a similar shot does.

Conservatives and Trump supporters alike banded together to decry Stewart's disrespect for the president, a man with whom she's had a contentious past.

"Sooooooo disappointed in you Martha Stewart. Giving the middle finger to President Trump. I could see you giving the finger to Hillary since she was behind you going to jail. She could have made a phone call and stopped that whole nonsense but didn't yet you hold a grudge towards Trump. Wow!"

"Classless. Showing more respect to a low life than our President. Sickening."

"She's an ex-con what do you expect! Thuglife!"

"Too late @marthastewart48 ... This Army Ranger mom saw the original version of this photo where you're flipping off the President. Try to remember that there are sons and daughters serving (and dying) under the man you have the luxury to flip off. #noclass."

"Looks like prison taught you nothing. You're typical thug Martha."

"Disrespectful Stewart ! It's not cool at all, do you think the left is buying your crap lol nope it's the right, don't hurt your brand."

Stewart and Trump butted heads in 2005 when she hosted her own season of "The Apprentice," competing directly with Trump.

The two were embroiled in a public spat in 2006 when Stewart accused Trump of sabotaging her "Apprentice" stint by competing with her, forcing it to fail.

"Having two 'Apprentices' was as unfair to him as it was unfair to me," Stewart said in 2006. "But Donald really wanted to stay on."

Trump responded, "I wish she would be able to take responsibility for her failure."

Additionally, Stewart was a  vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, calling Trump "unprepared."

"This is the most important election of the last hundred years," Stewart told CNN Money in September 2016. "We have to be very certain that we elect a person who has experience, knowledge, a base of education in the world of world politics, as well as domestic politics, and so obviously I'm voting for Hillary Clinton.

"We just can't have a country run by someone who is totally unprepared for what comes," Stewart said of Trump.
