British special forces legend on handling suspected Islamic jihadis: 'Drag them out of their beds

For "Big" Phil Campion, a legendary former member of Britain's Special Air Service, yet another deadly Islamic terror attack in London leaves the government with no choice: "Stop pussyfooting around" and find all suspected Islamic jihadis — and do it now.

"You need to get these people who've been identified, get them off the streets," Campion told SkyNews on camera. "You've gotta get rid of them. You've got to do something about them. ... You've got to start thinking about going into the communities and finding out what's going wrong at a grass-roots level."

He continued: "These people are being indoctrinated somehow. ... In the old days, they used to bound the media, they used to get to the root of the problem and then start rolling it out. Nowadays, it's just straight up in the air. We're giving them what they want ... It's ridiculous. You're playing into their hands."

Campion, the author of a handful of books, added that "you've got to absolutely nip it in the bud, put the media bounds on, get on social media, get on top of them, drag them out of their beds, call them in ... interrogate them, find out what's going on and then you can work from there."

He noted that it's "emerging now that we knew who they were all along. Why were they there? Get rid of them. Bring them in. If it turns out they are OK and they can be rehabilitated, then rehabilitate them ... until then, you're behind bars.

"And you're segregated, and you're incommunicado, and you're not talking to everybody and whipping up this hatred ... you're away from everybody else," he continued. "And you're removing the bad apple from the barrel."

Campion's relevant comments begin just after the 2:30 mark:

In another interview with SkyNews, Campion said, "it's black and white now. They're treading on our toes, they're pushing us into a corner everywhere we go ... the time to try to sort this out with pen and paper is over."

Campion noted that the London Bridge attack victims "probably sat there last week thinking to themselves how terrible it is" for those affected by the Islamist terror attack in Manchester. "And now it's happened to them."

He said that Britain's borders should be "controlled properly" and those who "have any links" to terrorist organizations get taken off the streets and dealt with.

The London Bridge attack — in which seven people were killed and 48 injured by three men who reportedly shouted “this is for Allah” — was the third Islamist terror attack England this year. In March, an Islamic terrorist mowed down pedestrians on the Westminster Bridge, killing four people. And in May, a suicide bomber attacked a crowd after a concert in Manchester, killing 22 and injuring dozens.
