Rep. Maxine Waters says she'll run for president under this one condition

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) told The Daily Caller on Thursday that she doesn't have any plans to enter a bid for the 2020 presidential race, but if the "millennials" wanted her to run, she'd go ahead and do it.

Speaking about her scheduled appearance this weekend in New Hampshire, Waters admitted that the appearance isn't in anticipation for a 2020 presidential run.

“I’m just going up to do a county Democratic thing. That’s all,” she said.

The Daily Caller reported that they pressed Waters for further details, trying to eke out an answer as to whether or not she'd genuinely consider a run, to which she answered, “I’m not running for anything but my own seat. I don’t have any presidential aspirations. If the millennials want me to do it, I’d do it, though.”

Waters is set to be in New Hampshire on Sunday for a Strafford County Democratic Committee event. Waters seems to be quite enamored by millennials — and in a recent interview with The New York Times, even said that she's learning a lot from them.

"I have been adopted by the millennials, and I’m enjoying every minute of it!" she told the newspaper. "I’m learning a new language. You never think about shade, for example, other than, you know, ‘a tree is providing shade,’ but when they taught me what shade was, I thought: 'Now, isn’t that creative?'"
