Concealed permit holder breaks up botched robbery, keeps suspect at bay at gunpoint
August 11, 2017
WKBN 27 out of Ohio reported that a concealed permit holder intervened during a Thursday robbery and kept the suspected thief at bay until law enforcement showed up.
The suspect was caught in a neighbor's driveway around 2:00 a.m., and according to the report by WKBN, the good samaritan told law enforcement that he had witnessed "two suspects going through his neighbor's car."
The gun owner added that he pulled out his gun, confronted the suspects, and ordered them to lie on the ground. The report claimed that one of the suspects fled on foot, but the gun owner was able to subdue the other suspect until police arrived on the scene.
The suspect taken into custody, a 17-year-old boy, admitted that he and his unnamed accomplice "were breaking into cars in the area."
The 17-year-old was charged “with theft, criminal trespass, possession of criminal tools, obstructing official business and a curfew violation.”
