The politically correct police have forced another celebrity for apologize for insinuating something that might be possibly taken as racially charged, but almost certainly wasn't. The perpetrator is Lili Reinhart, star actress of "Riverdale."
The 21-year-old Reinhart made an innocent joke about a picture she found on the internet and said it reminded her of her own soul, for its blackness.
How could anyone see this as racist?? I mean, blackface is when someone intentionally makes fun of black people. This isn't that pic.twitter.com/cqS3Pz5dYK

Although the actress's meaning was clearly about her having a "black soul" and had nothing to do with race, many people took it in the worst way possible.
They called it racially insensitive because it resembled a white person in "blackface."
the IGNORANCE in these replies. blackface is not funny or cute & is racist regardless of intent

Reinhart apologized and deleted the offending tweet, despite having many more supporters on social media than detractors.
"I did not mean for my tweet to come off that way," she said. "I can see how it was interpreted as being insensitive, completely. I saw the pic on a Halloween Instagram and didn't think it would be interpreted as being racially insensitive."
"I apologize," she added. "Never meant any harm. I can see how it could've been misinterpreted."
