As they say, it could've been worse.
Surveillance video caught the predawn moment Sunday when a speeding white car on French Street was about to cross 17th Street in Santa Ana, California.
Near miss #1: A black vehicle was seen on video heading down 17th Street and crossing in front of the speeding white car, barely missing it.

The white car kept going and headed toward the median in the middle of 17th Street.

It then smashed into the median and went airborne. Police told KABC-TV the median had a dirt mound which likely played a part in the vehicle's launch.

Near miss #2: The car crashed into the second floor of a dental office on the other side of 17th Street. No one was inside the building.

Near miss #3: A bus was seen on video headed down 17th Street in front of the building just after the crash, barely missing the airborne vehicle.

The car caught fire after it hit the building, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Stephen Horner told KNBC-TV.
This is what it looked like after the fire was out.

The driver managed to exit the car but was dangling from the bottom of the vehicle until police could catch him, crash witness Daniel Sanchez told the station. Firefighters extricated a second person trapped in the sedan, KABC reported.

"It was crazy, it really was," Sanchez added to KNBC.

The driver and a passenger were taken to a hospital after sustaining minor injuries, Santa Ana police told the station.
Near miss #4: There were no other reported injuries, KNBC said.

The driver, who's name wasn't released, was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police told KABC. The driver admitted to using drugs, KNBC reported.
