Wisconsin law enforcement is asking the public for their help to identify a man who was recently captured on surveillance footage brutally assaulting a restaurant employee in Milwaukee.
Fortunately, that employee's colleague was carrying a concealed weapon and was able to prevent the man from further injuring the employee.
According to WTMJ-TV, the incident began when an unknown man went behind the counter at a local George Webb restaurant and attacked an employee, seriously injuring her.
Surveillance footage shows the injured employee scrambling behind a co-worker, out of frame. After hitting the woman, the suspect seemingly goes after her. That's when another restaurant worker pulled her concealed weapon and pointed it at the suspect.
The incident occurred on June 29. However, the surveillance footage was released on Friday as police ask the community for help identifying the attacker. Milwaukee Alderman Bob Donovan sent the footage to WTMJ.
"It is sickening to see this unsuspecting worker assaulted so brutally by this individual," Donovan told WTMJ. "One can only imagine what might have occurred if that employee had not pulled out her weapon."
According to Donovan, the employee who was seriously injured quit her job at the restaurant after the attack.
"And can you really blame her for quitting? This is just sickening and I am tired of this crap happening in my district and in too many other neighborhoods across Milwaukee," he explained.
Police urge anyone with information about the crime to call them at 414-935-7360.
What did the restaurant say?
