Exclusive video: Watch Dem. Rep. Sewell literally run from questions about Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee firing an alleged rape victim

This is not a good look

A video exclusively obtained by TheBlaze shows Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Ala.) running from questions about Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) and a controversy involving rape allegations.

Sewell is asked about the scandal by an anonymous conservative activist, who provided the video to TheBlaze.

"Congresswoman, do you believe that Sheila Jackson Lee should be removed from all committee appointments for firing a victim of rape?" he asked.

Sewell walked quickly and ignored the question, even after she is asked a second time.

"Congresswoman do you believe that Sheila Jackson Lee should be removed from all committee appointments for firing a victim of rape?" he asked as she tried to rush away.

"Do you believe she should receive any disciplinary actions?" he asked.

"I'm so sorry, I'm trying to get to a hearing!" Sewell fired back as she began to jog away quickly.

Rep. Lee has been under fire for her handling of accusations raised by a former intern at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation while Lee was the chairperson for the group. The intern claimed that an intern coordinator at the CBCF raped her in 2015, and that her report was ignored by Lee and other leaders in the group. The alleged victim says she was fired several weeks after she filed a complaint.

The former intern coordinator later worked as a campaign director for Beto O'Rourke in his ill-fated bid to unseat Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). In January, Rep. Lee resigned as chair of the CBCF and also of a subcommittee in the House Judiciary Committee.

In a second scene from the exclusive video, Sewell is less rushed, but still avoided answering any question about Rep. Lee.

"Excuse me, congresswoman, do you believe that Sheila Jackson Lee should be removed from all committee appointments for firing a victim of rape?" she is asked.

"So are you a tracker?" she asked, ignoring the question. "Who are you? I think you've already asked me that question."

He asked her again, pointing out that Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) was removed from his committee appointments after he made what many saw as racist comments. "Don't you believe that she deserves the same punishment?"

Sewell refused to answer, stared at her phone, and walked away.

Here's the exclusive video of Sewell ducking questions:

Sewell's office did not respond to a request for comment from TheBlaze on the video, or whether the congresswoman had a position on what repercussions Lee should face.
