Then the pair of crooks rifled through the man's pockets as a bystander standing by the elevators looked on.

At one point, the mugger who bashed the victim in the head with a brick began tearing at the man's pockets, actually lifting his body off the ground until his pant leg partially ripped off.

The muggers ran off with the victim’s cellphone and wallet, and took off out of the building into another nearby building, police told the Post.

What happened to the victim?

The victim was taken to Lincoln Medical Center in stable condition, the paper reported.

What about the suspects?

Police are still searching for the suspects, both of whom appeared to be in their 20s, cops added to the Post.

One suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, black pants, white sneakers, and carrying a blue backpack, the paper said.

The other suspect was last seen wearing a black and white hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, black sneakers, and carrying a black and green backpack.

How did folks react?

Twitter users were disgusted by the attack — and a number of other related issues:

  • "Bail set at $20, out by tomorrow morning, time served," one commenter quipped, after which another user took it a step further: "Paid by [Vice President] Kamala Harris."
  • "A 70s movie starring Charles Bronson comes to mind," another commenter noted, a reference to the iconic actor's famous portrayal of a New York City vigilante in "Death Wish."
  • "I’ve been told by those on the left this is okay and may not have technically happened," another user said with tongue in cheek, referencing far-left U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's widely panned dismissal of organized retail theft.
  • "This depravity has to stop," another commenter declared. "How much longer will this be allowed?"
