Surveillance video caught the moment a mugger bashed the back of a man's head with a brick, knocking him unconscious as the 53-year-old victim fell to the floor of a New York City building lobby on Saturday afternoon, police the told the New York Post.

The man had been walking his bicycle toward the elevators before the attack commenced in the apartment building on East 165th Street near Tinton Avenue; once the victim was helplessly on the ground, another mugger joined his accomplice and kicked the man in the face.

Then the pair of crooks rifled through the man's pockets as a bystander standing by the elevators looked on.
At one point, the mugger who bashed the victim in the head with a brick began tearing at the man's pockets, actually lifting his body off the ground until his pant leg partially ripped off.
The muggers ran off with the victim’s cellphone and wallet, and took off out of the building into another nearby building, police told the Post.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Medical Center in stable condition, the paper reported.
Police are still searching for the suspects, both of whom appeared to be in their 20s, cops added to the Post.
One suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, black pants, white sneakers, and carrying a blue backpack, the paper said.
The other suspect was last seen wearing a black and white hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, black sneakers, and carrying a black and green backpack.
