Florida lawmaker Mike Hill is black, pro-life, and Republican. The left, of course, is trying to take him down.

They want to put him in his place

Mike Hill's first crime as a member of the Florida legislature was to be a Republican while black. Strike one.

Then, he dared to think for himself further on the crazy matter of defending innocent life by promoting "heartbeat" legislation, similar to that already passed in several other states across the nation. Strike two.

So when he went to a gathering of constituents and somebody in the crowd decided to play the "stone the gays" card. Which seems to happen only in the countries where Disney would rather make movies than in Georgia. Naturally Hill was guilty by association because — gasp — he refused to entertain the question. Strike three.

The funny thing about all this is that the call for stoning that really wasn't is now turning into something far closer to an actual one at the hands of the progressive mob and its journalistic propagandists.

Because that's a classic page from their playbook. Often times, the very thing leftist attackers claim you to be guilty of is the very thing that they are not only complicit in, but are up to their elbows with blood on their hands.

"In less than 30 seconds of audio from his recent meeting with a Pensacola-based group called Women for Responsible Legislation, Florida Rep. Mike Hill proved why he is both an unfit legislator and an unfit Christian," argued one of the virtue signalers-in-chief from the Pensacola News Journal about Hill.

He goes on: "Where is our moral line, Pensacola? When do we reject politicians who misinterpret the Bible in order to muse about murder?"

And: "It's not enough to groan, roll our eyes and privately lament Mike Hill. When public officials espouse cruel and immoral ideas, we are morally obligated to shout them down in the public square."

Meanwhile, the news cycle for the last month has been about states that are either cheering for infanticide, like New York and Illinois, or more numerous states — and even some Democrats in those states, like Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards and Georgia Rep. Katrina Jackson — who are saying "no" to the endless murder of innocents.

And make no mistake, that news cycle is exactly why Hill is being targeted. Since it is now widely out in the open that most Democratic presidential candidates support the unfettered right to kill babies for no other reason than they simply can't be bothered with them — something that only 18 percent of Americans support — the script must be flipped before things get totally out of control. There's an election next year, after all.

Because we sure as hell aren't going to sit around and let stories about Catholic bishops refusing communion to death-promoting lawmakers gain traction, are we?

So into the Jussie Smollett mobile, everybody! Time to make some crap up.

My favorite line above is the "misinterpret the Bible in order to muse about murder." I keep looking for the column by the same opinion writer that takes so-called Christian abortion supporters like, say, Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, and tells them their "cruel and immoral ideas" require them to be excommunicated from public life.

But I can't find that column. And I never will.

Which is how you know that what is happening to Rep. Hill is a total scam. He is a pro-life Republican while black and that simply won't do. He is Harriet Tubman. He is Frederick Douglass. He is calling people out of a cultish creed of death and, far from misinterpreting the bible, is simply letting the lion out of its cage.

Better put that uppity guy in his place. Doesn't he know the party he's supposed to be in bondage to? Doesn't he know he isn't free?

That's the endless yap of the progressive tyranny before us to anyone who dares not stay on the plantation. Get in line, or else you hate gays or something and we will destroy you. So when you see the courageous who simply won't play that game like Mike Hill, we better make sure they don't stand alone.

Make sure you remember this, courtesy of Captain America: "Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: The requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — No, YOU move."
