Congressman describes himself as 'transpartisan,' says he is 'coming out of the cloakroom,
July 21, 2017
Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) is presenting a seminar on criminal justice reform with Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) at Freedom Fest in Las Vegas, Nevada, today. Massie describes incarceration as “socialism with restrained mobility” and believes there has to be a better way to administer justice.
He told Mike Opelka, who is also at Freedom Fest, that he is working with Representative Bobby Scott (D-Va.) in a bipartisan effort to find that better way. He highlighted the free food, medicine, and transport prisoners receive while they could be working to pay their debt to society.
Massie confessed on today’s “Pure Opelka” that he is “coming out of the cloak room” as “transpartisan,” explaining, “Some days, I just can’t identify with either” party. He illustrated this personal choice by telling Mike about his Tesla, which has a “Friends of Coal” license plate that says “ND FED” -- end the Fed.
