DNC Chairman: 'The Electoral College is not a creation of the Constitution

Democratic National Committee Chairmen, Tom Perez, made some ill-informed statements at Indiana State University this weekend when he described the Electoral College as "not of the Constitution."

He participated in a talk called "The Lawyer's Duty: Social Justice, Racial Justice, Economic Justice" and ended up making an irresponsible assertion.

“The Electoral College is not a creation of the Constitution,” Perez said. “It doesn’t have to be there.”

Well, it turns out it is. In fact, it's in Article II of the Constitution which you can read for yourself here.

What a scary thought that a Democratic leader would misconstrue the most important document in our nation.

Thankfully, Pat is here to set the record straight and suggested Democrats start looking for a new head of their party.
