Listen: Did the WH reveal a double standard on ‘politicizing tragedy’ in this statement?
November 02, 2017
So using tragedy to promote your political agenda is OK – as long as the other “team” isn’t the one doing it?
After President Donald Trump immediately tied the NYC terrorist attack to immigration policy, a reporter pointed out his double standard, and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tried to do some damage control.
When a gunman mowed down hundreds of people in Las Vegas last month, the administration said that people shouldn’t immediately use the tragedy as an argument for gun control. Now, Trump seems to think it’s fine to use terrorism to advocate for more stringent background checks for immigrants.
On today’s show, Doc analyzed the reporter’s point and Sanders’ response – because hypocrisy from both sides should always be called out.
