Florida man accidentally identifies himself just before robbing a bank

A Florida man made a series of mistakes while robbing a bank in Lake City, including leaving behind photo identification.

Donald Towns, 41, has been charged with armed robbery after allegedly robbing the bank under threat of a concealed firearm. Towns was reportedly the first customer in the bank that morning and went to the manager’s office to open a checking account … a process that involved handing over his driver’s license for the bank to verify his identity and make a copy.

Besides allowing the bank to keep a copy of his driver’s license, Towns also wrote a note demanding money on a medical discharge form with his personal information, WJXT News4Jax reported.

Doc’s pro-criminal tip from this “Friday Leftovers” segment: “When robbing a bank, do not identify yourself.” Listen to the full clip for more hilarious crime stories.
