Listen: Glenn reviews ‘Jim & Andy’: Has Jim Carrey found the meaning of life?
December 20, 2017
Wondering what to stream next on Netflix? Glenn and Stu reviewed the new Netflix documentary “Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond” on today’s show and had some fascinating insights.
“Jim & Andy” uses real-life archival footage to go behind the scenes and show how Carrey adapted his persona to become the standup comedian Andy Kaufman for the 1999 film “Man on the Moon.”
“You will watch this, and you will say to yourself … ‘Either Jim Carrey is full-fledged, out of his mind, nuts, or he is one of the most sane people that you’ll ever meet,” Glenn said. “I believe he’s operating at a different level.”
If you see him as saner than most of the world, the main takeaway from Carrey’s mindset seems to be that there’s just no meaning in fame, success and “stuff.”
