This is the real role fossil fuels have played in the Hurricane Harvey story

Without generators, boats, helicopters, and even jet skis powered by fossil fuels, many people in East Texas might not have survived the extreme weather and flooding of Hurricane Harvey. Many in the media, however, are choosing to focus on fossil fuels as something to blame for what climatologists see as fairly usual extreme weather patterns.

Yaron Brooks said that fossil fuels make it possible for us to "bear the brunt of what nature dishes out so much better than we ever have as human beings in the past," on "The Yaron Brook Show." Casualties will be greatly reduced because Texans can fuel the technology being used to save lives.

He cited Alex Epstein's book "The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels" and recommended it for anyone who wants to explore improvements in human longevity and safety.
