White House Correspondents' Dinner exposes ‘delusional’ media

On Monday’s “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson,” Doc Thompson and Kal Elsebai caught up on “news” from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

The annual dinner, which began in 1921, has been an opportunity for roasting the president since the ‘80s. In recent years, the event has become increasingly glamorous and drawn more celebrities. President Donald Trump broke with tradition and was a no-show at this year's Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday, instead holding a rally in Pennsylvania.

Doc and Kal wondered why an association for journalists which covers the White House needs to exist at all and talked about the facts of media bias. Last year, the Center for Public Integrity found that donors who work in journalism and media overwhelmingly gave to the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign.

At the dinner, White House Correspondents Association President Jeff Mason stated that the media’s first important job is to report the facts. If that’s the case, “you’re fired,” Doc said.

“This shows how crazy they are,” Doc went on to say. “They are delusional. Either you knowingly, willingly are propagandists –"

Kal finished the thought, “Or they think they are exposing truth.”
