Bill Maher Says What Elon Musk Seems Afraid to Say

The Rubin Report

The news cycle might seem to be a constant stream of bad news, but Dave Rubin has a little something to lighten it up with a clip of an increasingly important figure in our world advocating for what makes America free.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk sat down with Bill Maher and said what many Americans have been thinking.

“Free speech used to be a left or liberal value,” Musk says, “And yet we see from you know, the in quotes left, a desire to actually censor.”

“I think we should be extremely concerned about anything that undermines the First Amendment. There’s a reason for the First Amendment. The First Amendment is because people came from countries where they could not speak freely,” Musk continues, “and where saying certain things would get you thrown into prison.”

Musk refrains from pointing out any country in particular, so Maher points out France as an example.

“I think if you deny the Holocaust, which I think is abhorrent, but I also think it should be a part of free speech, you can be thrown into jail.”

“I really can’t emphasize this enough,” Musk adds, “we must protect free speech.”

He continues, “the thing about censorship is that sure, for those who would advocate it, just remember at some point that will be turned on you.”
