City of Berkeley declares 'climate emergency' is as urgent as a world war

What's going on?

The Berkeley City Council has declared a "climate emergency" and resolved to "humanely stabilize" the population.

Say what now?

The council's resolution, which was adopted earlier this week, compared the "climate emergency" to World War II, saying that “reversing global warming and restoring a safe and stable climate requires an emergency mobilization to reach zero greenhouse gas emissions across all sectors at wartime speed (emphasis added)."

What does that actually mean?

The big goal outlined in the resolution is for Berkeley to release net negative greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, an essentially impossible goal.

The resolution from Council Member Cheryl Davila warned that man-made global warming was “driving a global fresh water scarcity crisis and the sixth mass extinction of species, which could devastate much of life on earth for the next 10 million years,” the Daily Caller reported.

Glenn's take:

The latest example of climate change fearmongering from progressives just shows how extreme the movement has become. Climate advocates are now comparing global warming to the rise of fascism during World War II.

"Because climate change and Nazism are definitely the same," Glenn said sarcastically on today's show.
