Florida mall evacuated on Sunday after an explosion – here’s all police know so far

What happened?

Two improvised explosive devices detonated Sunday evening at Eagle Ridge Mall in Lake Wales, Florida. No one was injured; around 100 people were shopping at the mall at the time and were safely evacuated, CNN reported. Both IEDs were found in the same hallway close to the mall entrance of JCPenney about 10 yards from each other.

Was this an act of terror?

For now, the authorities aren’t saying it was a terrorist attack since they don’t have a motive.

Do police have a suspect?

Police are looking for a person of interest in connection with the Sunday evening attack: a “middle-aged white man with a heavy build who was wearing a gray shirt and hat.”

On today’s show, Doc pointed out the problem with this description: How will those identifying characteristics help you at all in Florida?
