Former Obama aide responds to Roseanne Barr’s tweet – and only fuels the outrage

Entertainment

TV’s “Roseanne” won’t be returning after ABC canceled the successful reboot in the wake of Roseanne Barr’s recent tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former aide to President Barack Obama.

Jarrett spoke to MSNBC on Tuesday about Barr’s tweet, which labeled Jarrett “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” referencing her initials. Barr has since apologized after a 12-hour break from Twitter, but the apology won’t bring back her show.

“I think we have to turn it into a teaching moment,” Jarrett told MSNBC. “I’m fine. I’m worried about all the people out there who don’t have a circle of friends and followers coming to their defense.”

On today’s show, Doc was tired of selective outrage. Why are only certain groups off-limits when it comes to making cruel comments? Why aren’t we all learning to ignore people who are being jerks instead of giving them power by overreacting?

“Stop pretending life is so much worse for you,” Doc blasted Jarrett’s comments.

To see more from Doc, visit his channel on TheBlaze and listen live to “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson” weekdays 6 a.m. – 9 a.m. ET, only on TheBlaze Radio Network.
