Here's what is in the latest GOP amendments to the Senate health care bill
July 17, 2017
In the wake of numerous criticisms of the legislation, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has proposed an amendment to the current Senate health care bill, or Better Care Reconciliation Act. It doesn’t take away Obamacare, but comes with a “consumer freedom option” for anyone who doesn’t want some of the types of coverage the Affordable Care Act mandated.
The amendment also provides $45 billion toward fighting opioid addiction, restores two taxes on high income earners that had been cut in the Senate’s draft, and allows people to pay their insurance premiums with money saved in Health Savings Accounts.
Glenn Beck wrote these out on the chalkboard for the Think Tank to ponder on today’s “Glenn.” He said right now Republicans are “jamming things through that are not conservative, nor Republican.”
