Rabid raccoon attacks a woman -- she responds with her bare hands and a puddle
June 15, 2017
A woman in Maine killed a rabid raccoon by drowning it in a puddle. Rachel Borch was taking a beautiful afternoon jog when she was accosted by a "bounding" raccoon. He lunged at her and bit her thumb before she was able to drag the creature to the puddle, holding it there until it stopped struggling.
Pat Gray didn't understand why she didn't just kick it on today's "Pat & Stu." The guys jokingly blamed Borch's invasion of the raccoon's home territory for the assault and dubbed her a murderer.
The body was later retrieved by Borch's father and brought to the warden service. Hope Animal Control Officer Heidi Blood confirmed the beast rabid after necropsy.
