White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer found himself in more hot water yesterday when he compared Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to Adolf Hitler, claiming that Assad was even worse because Hitler “didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons” to kill people. Spicer apparently forgot that Jews were gassed to death in concentration camps during the Holocaust.
While Spicer’s remarks were wrong, some in the media have gone so far as to call Spicer a “Holocaust denier,” which clearly misrepresents his off-the-cuff historical inaccuracy.
Spicer attempted to clarify his comments but later simply apologized. “I was trying to draw a comparison for which there shouldn’t have been one.”
This morning on "The Glenn Beck Radio Program," Glenn Beck addressed the mutual stupidity of Spicer and the media who overreact to him.
“The media went from zero to ‘Holocaust denier’ in about half a second,” Glenn said, adding that the best thing for Spicer to do is to admit defeat and get some professional PR assistance:
“Here’s the problem: Sean Spicer needs a PR person himself. He needs a press relations spokesperson for himself who can just come out and say this, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, I’m gonna keep it real short today. I talked to Sean Spicer and I’m just gonna have to tell you this: dumb as a box of rocks sometimes. … Remember, it’s Sean Spicer. He’s not that bright. Let’s just move on; he wasn’t denying the Holocaust.”
