This is state mandated murder': Glenn Beck weighs in on the plight of UK baby Alfie Evans

State mandated murder. That’s how Glenn Beck described what the United Kingdom is doing to 23-month-old Alfie Evans, the toddler who was removed from life support Tuesday and denied "medical care" -- which apparently includes water.

Alfie suffers from an undiagnosed brain condition, which according to doctors has robbed him of his basic survival functions. On Monday, the European Court of Human Rights on Monday rejected Alfie's parents' request to take their terminally ill child to Italy for treatment. Instead, the UK court system ordered the hospital to remove Alfie from life support. Doctors expected Alfie would die within minutes, but were left "gobsmacked" when the little boy continued to survive on his own after life support was discontinued. Nevertheless, it took doctors more than six hours to agree to give Alfie water.

Glenn's take:

"This is state mandated murder. There’s just no other way to describe it. Alfie’s already showed that a miracle is possible, and his parent’s CLEARLY want their son to live," said Glenn on the show today. "And this isn’t a case of a hospital bypassing a parent’s wishes to do a medical procedure that would ensure survival… this is a case of a hospital bypassing a parent’s wishes TO ENSURE DEATH!"
