Watch: Delaware may let schoolchildren ‘choose’ gender, race without parents’ input
November 15, 2017
Should kids be encouraged to pick their gender and even choose a new name without input from their parents?
The Delaware Department of Education is considering a regulation requiring schools to let children choose their gender identity and race at school – without consulting their parents. The policy is intended to protect children struggling with their identities, but critics say it’s misguided and unconstitutional because it would let schools come between parents and their kids and pressure boys and girls to have the opposite gender in their locker rooms.
