Faith Complaint: Catholic University is too Catholic

As JihadWatch notes, crucifixes hung in a classroom at the Catholic University — a private university in Washington, D.C. — are apparently now considered a violation of Muslim students’ human rights.

The school’s newspaper details the new legal complaint:

The official allegations claim that CUA, “does not provide space – as other universities do – for the many daily prayers Muslim students must make, forcing them instead to find temporarily empty classrooms where they are often surrounded by Catholic symbols which are incongruous to their religion,” according to a press release on PRLOG.com.

This formal complaint also maintains that the new same-sex residence halls are particularly discriminating against female students, which is a new position on the same-sex lawsuit that began last month.

[GW Law professor John] Banzhaf claims that [Catholic] University is denying Muslim students the same benefits that students of other religions are able to enjoy since there is no formal Muslim association sponsored by Catholic University but the Columbus School of Law has an association for Jewish students

“Denying Muslim students the opportunity for form a student group on campus could hardly be based upon any fundamental Catholic doctrine since Georgetown University not only has such a Muslim student group, but also provides its Muslim students with a separate prayer room and even a Muslim chaplain,” said Banzhaf in that press release.

    It is a PRIVATE University! If you do not like them displaying the crucifix do not enroll at the college. There are plenty of politcally correct liberal universities in every state in the union. This is just another example of muslims trying to push the law to the edge and take advantage of the court system. It is getting to the point of being ridiculous. Muslims take advantage of the constitution to advance their agenda and if they got their way and got sharia law implemented they would outlaw the very Constitution they are using for their goals. They are nothing but a bunch of punks wishing they were still living in the middle ages. That is where they want to take the world is backward in time where some towel headed decendant of Khomeini can decide who is beheaded for shaving their beard or not wearing a face scarf or something unholy like that. Islam should be illegal in this country. It is nothing but trouble and is more dangerous than most cults in this country and around the world. It is getting to the point where the word hate is becoming more appropriate towards this religion.

    It’s easy for me to understand why Muslims are going to a Catholic school. You have to know a religon before you can persecute it. Regardless, of how we feel about our enemies, Jesus commands us to love our enemies as ourselves. Its VERY difficult to do, but none the less it can be done, has been done, and will continue to be done. Pray for those muslims that are in this University, GOD is good all the time, HE can change the hearts and minds of our enimies. Maybe, they will learn something usefull. Perhaps GOD allowed these muslims students to attend this pitcular University to thwart the enimies (Satan) Plans.

    Why did these muslim pigs join the Catholic University? If they hate Catholicism, they are FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE to leave country. Let them go to another Muslim university where they can practise their SHARIA LAW.

    For men like Ibrahim Ramey who think that we Americans are too stupid to realize what is happening, let me say, “You are quite wrong! We know exactly what you are doing!” This action at Catholic University is just the initial step in subverting this and other Catholic Universities into being ultimately converted to Islam. Your methods are very obvious. You already want to build a mosque near ground zero as a monument to the massacre on 911. You and your people have already introduced Shari’a Law into some of the US courts, and you have already begun to indoctrinate our children by polluting our textbooks with lies about the glory of Islam as a religion. This spiritual warfare has been going on for a long time, but it has not gone unnoticed by many. Let’s see how it ends! And, Mr. Ramey, when you are on TV, look at the camera. When you keep your eyes averted and cannot look us straight in the eyes when you speak, we think you are hiding something . . . and we believe you are!

    These towelheads are too stupid to realize that a private (Catholic) university is NOT a public university and they are not entitled to invoke some stinking, false “equal protection” argument against a private institution. Towelheads: GO HOME! And while you’re on the flight there (which you’ll easily be able to board as the TSA positively loves you), try reading OUR SCRIPTURE which says that the gates of hell (you) will not prevail against Christ’s kingdom!

      so now we are being told that the TRUTH is: NO MUSLIM STUDENTS have complained, it is a professor from George Washington University that is bringing the complaint. He is John Banzhaf.

    I was 5 yrs. old ,when on Dec.7,1941,the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor!! The whole nation got mad as hell!! When they flew the planes into the World Towers, every body got scared as hell What the hell happened to this great nation??

    In my state I have many Jewish friends who attended Catholic high schools because the schools were just better. They simply opted out of the religious classes.

    The only reason that a muslim would enroll at a Catholic University it to ultimately get them to bend to Shariah law. If they were actually interested in getting an education they would keep their mouths shut.

    We are going to get more of this leftist agitation. Be aware. The radical left is aligning with the muslims. They both hate the true meaning of freedom. Their mission is to tear down American traditions and values. Pray for Catholic University that they are able to stand up to this attack. We will all benefit.

    WHAT? Is this in a sense hilarious or what? Holy cow pies why are they going to a Catholic University in the first place? What’s next Norte Dame or BYU? I think they need to go back to grade school and try to learn some common sense. In America you have the freedom to choose what universities you want to go to if you have the money and the grades. Or are they hoping to proselyte Catholics?

    I mean C’mon! If you are a muslim and don’t want to be surrounded by Christian Symbols, stay the hell away from the Catholic University.

    This is unbelievable to me. If you’re a Mslm WHY would you go to a Catholic or any other Christian school, then have the unmitigated gall to complain that they’re insufficiently considerate of your cult or whatever one wants to consider Islam. It’s sort of like the local chapter of the WCTU holding its meetings in the local bar, then complaining about the booze and drinkers offending them.

    It’s time for the people in this country to begin acting like they had a brain and a pair of ******. This kowtowing to every whim and fancy of every group that’s offended is disgusting, and has no basis in the Constitution. Nobody forced the Mslms to go to Catholic University or even to come to this country, if they don’t like the school or the country they can leave. Nobody will stop them.

    Another prime example of “stupid is as stupid does,” or in this case, it is simply another attempt by Muslims to eradicate things they don’t like; things that they believe are opposed to Sharia law and Islam in general. That’s the ONLY reason they would enroll in a Catholic school, period.

    Keep an eye on your local mosque.

    I’ll wager a notable portion of the violence in the OWS movement will be instigated by the Mullahs.

    This happened in early 20th century Germany, late 20th century Cambodia and Vietnam. I’m sure it has happened in other places, but I don’t know of any off the top of my head.

    I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but it doesn’t make sense to me that Muslim students would enroll at a Catholic University, then complain that the school was too Catholic. There’s something deeper in this. There should be allowances for religious institutions to reject individuals who openly carry conflicting views. This sort of goes back to the “don’t ask, don’t tell” thought, but I think the difference here is that if a Gay says he’s gay in the military, he’s still a soldier with the same common goal as his or her straight counterpart. If a muslim enters a catholic school and tries to fundamentally change it to accommodate themself, that’s something quite a bit different.
    “Progress” in America has been misinterpreted into “change and neutralize”. Like the word ‘peruse’, its usage has been been so misused, that it now has two completely and directly opposite definitions.
    Progress is to move toward a goal, but in these times, if someone feels that their goal is out of reach, they want to change the rules to fit their views of how it should be played.

      I’m surprised that they say nothing about being taught by nonbelievers. It’s ironic they should say the school is to Catholic when indeed it is Catholic! Maybe they should apply to public funded Universities where tax payer’s money has provided special lunch menus, private foot baths and prayer rooms. O yes while they are there they can prevent free speech to non believers who are guest speakers.

      They have great universities in Egypt, Iran Saudi Arabia, and Libya. They can also prefect their Sharia law there. The downer is they kill you if you miss one of the 5 daily prayer sessions.
