Good news: Al Gore has a new scientific theory

Whether you’re a liberal or a conservative, former Vice President Al Gore says your political ideology was predetermined before you were even born.  According to Gore, the “scientists” have found ideology in our genes:

“I think, first of all, scientists now know that there is, in human nature, a divide between what we sometimes call ‘liberals’ and ‘conservatives,’” Gore told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “And it gives an advantage, you can speculate, to the human species to have some people who are temperamentally inclined to try to change the future, experiment with new things, and others who are temperamentally inclined to say, ‘Wait a minute, not too fast, let’s make sure we don’t do anything rash here.’”

This is a popular argument on the liberal left. Progressives like to argue that liberals and atheists are just “more evolved” than conservatives:

It’s all linked to the evolution of intelligence, says author Satoshi Kanazawa, an evolutionary psychologist at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Kanazawa’s theory is that intelligence—particularly our ability for on-the-spot problem solving and reasoning—arose as an adaptation to deal with the unusual and unexpected, such as a sudden forest fire.

If this is the case, why is it that so many liberals lack basic common sense?  If I’m caught in a forest fire, for example, I’d bet that conservatives have better survival instincts than godless liberal academics.  In my experience, common sense always trumps book smarts.

    Mr. Gore should remember the old saying that it is better to keep quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Why anybody gives him a podium is beyond me.

    Just another pedestrian liberal argument (couched in a supposedly “scientific study”) to state yet again that conservatives are stupid. Remember the BIG 3 liberal shut-oppenents-down tactics. They are: You’re stupid, You’re hateful (racist, insert-a-phobia-here), or the newly popular, you’re angry.

    These 3 tactics are used again and again in many colorful and inventive ways. But once you learn to spot them, they are easy to find.

    Who lacks common sense? Instead of an unfounded opinion here is proof you are wrong.

    Yesterday Mr. Beck edited an interview of Hilary Clinton so that the comments she was making criticizing Egypt’s new government leaders were about President Obama.

    In the course of his presentation he said that Mrs Clinton was positioning herself for a presidential run. He then took a call from a listener who said the same thing.

    Mr. Beck does this all the time. This is the same bit Phil Hendrie does but Mr. Beck isn’t talented enough to do voice impressions.
    It’s comedy. As is this blog post.
    Mr. Beck has so little respect for his listeners that he knows many of them will just repeat anything he says.

    Because they lack common sense.

      Funny thing is, Gore used to be Conservative Republican in TN back before it was politically expedient to be a liberal, climate change, democrat. No one knows what this loser actually believes, he changes his beliefs to suit the political climate to retain power and relevance.

    1) AlGore has a buncha’ nerve talking about any kind of ‘genetic predisposition’ when **that gland** under his nose seems to be out of control, and ‘transforming’ him right before our eyes.{The Horror !!}
    2) I find it stark, raving hilarious that he never espoused this before he sold CURRENT, when he had a Friggen’ NetWork to broadcast this bilge from, to his little vinegar-and-water filled heart’s content. Now he’s out and about, no longer has to worry about Brand Destruction, so it’s off to the races.
    3) Progressives have, over the course of at least 140 years , come back to this sort of line to justify almost anything they espouse.[See Progressivism and freed slaves, 1869/1890 and 'training camps' proposed by same] So, start up the lines early, my Friends and Fellow Patriots. Discover where they’re at and give your mouth swab willingly.
    The showers are right over,…there,… just off to your LEFT……….

    The “evolved” argument from the progressive left is absolutely chilling if you’ve studied Madison Grant and his contemporaries at the time – all progressives, Teddy Roosevelt, et al… The idea that they were just more evolved in their thinking is what led to the eugenics movement and ultimately the concentration camps in Germany. They were just more “evolved” than the other races and anyone who didn’t subscribe to their “scientific” Darwinian views were obviously stunted. Yep, I’ve seen this mentality before and I have a pretty good idea where it leads.

    Al Gore fancied himself a Climatologist, Oceanographer and Geologist. Now he has become a Cognitive Psychologist and Geneticist all between massages to release his chakra.

    Funny my experience has been that when I was young and stupid I would try anything once, then when I had responsibilities like paying bills and taking care of kids who were depending on me I became more cautious. Me-thinkst it is more a case of Nurture instead of Nature.
