Michele Bachmann: 'I'm not going away

She may have announced her retirement from Congress, but Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann insists she isn't leaving the political world behind.

Via WaPo:

“Sometimes you can be more effective on the outside than in the inside,” she told Fox News’s Sean Hannity.

“I will continue to be a very strong voice … I’m not going away, I’m not leaving Washington, I’m not leaving the national scene.”

She has not decided where she will land after leaving Congress. “I’m wide open, and I’m looking” for “a different perch,” she said. In the meantime, she promised to fight as hard as ever against what she sees as “serial lawlessness” in the White House.

She also suggested that another campaign might be in her future.

“In fact, I may run for another public office, that could happen,” she said. But asked if she was planning to run for president again in 2016, she demurred.

“I’m not taking anything off the table, but that’s not my number one item either,” she said.
