Mischievous beaver caught after wrecking store that sells fake Christmas trees

Don't you hate when something isn't what you thought it was? That's apparently what got this beaver hot under the fur.

The little furry creature — clearly geared up for some Christmas shopping — wandered into a dollar store in St. Mary’s County, Maryland, earlier this week, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff's office received the bizarre call when the beaver started trashing the store. And according to the Washington Post, the little critter didn't start misbehaving until after it browsed other parts of the store and finally noticed all the Christmas trees were fake.

Have no fear, though. Local authorities have apprehended the mischievous beaver.

The "suspect attempted to flee the area," the sheriff's office said in a statement. But the beaver has since been released to an animal rehabilitation clinic.
