A 29-year-old Italian man living in Switzerland was shocked when he received a letter from a neighbor asking a very candid question.
"Should we be afraid of you? First, the Italian flag and now the black flag of death. Are you an IS sympathizer?" the anonymous letter asked.
Well, it turns out his flag wasn't an ISIS flag at all, but simply a flag displaying the Jack Daniel's logo. The man, who recently moved to the country with his girlfriend, said he thought displaying the flag of the popular whiskey brand would be "funny."
"I fell from the clouds when I read that," the unnamed man told a local Swiss newspaper, adding that the author threatened to monitor the man and his girlfriend. He said he also plans to find out who wrote the letter and sue them for libel, because he believes the rumor could hurt his reputation among his other neighbors.
The flag is still up, and the man made it clear he had no intention of taking it down. Removing the flag would just "prove his idiotic neighbors right," he said.
