Maxine Waters is asked to defend her calls for impeachment and responds by denying she did so

MSNBC Host Craig Melvin interviewed Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif) and asked her to explain her tweet in which she expressed her will to "fight until [President Donald Trump] is impeached." In a surprising turn of events, the MSNBC host confronted Waters as she attempted to walk back her abundantly clear impeachment rhetoric.

Today on "Pat & Stu," Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere heaped praise upon Melvin for seeming to defy his network's policy of going soft on Democrats. The host read Waters' tweet and then asked "What are the impeachable offenses, Congresswoman?"

Waters then gave a rambling list of various ties to Russia and oil companies, referring to our representative republic as a democracy and prompting derision from Pat and Stu. Melvin then asked the California congresswoman if we should wait for answers to her questions before we call for impeachment.

Waters replied emphatically, "I have not called for impeachment." However, that is exactly what she did this weekend. She in fact led the crowd at a Tax Day protest in the chant "Impeach 45!" referring to Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States.

Pat and Stu expressed amazement over any confrontation on MSNBC of left-leaning politicians, attempted to empathize with Waters, and listed a few other Democrats who could have used that same treatment.
