Federal prosecutors beg Trump not to support jailbreak without meeting with them

President Trump is prepared to endorse legislation that would reduce sentences and promote early release programs for federal prisoners, according to multiple reports. And now, a group of federal prosecutors is sounding the alarm.

The National Association of Assistant United States Attorneys, representing prosecutors from around the country, has sent a final letter to the White House imploring the president to hear their concerns about the First Step Act before endorsing the bill. If political groups, Kim Kardashian, and Van Jones can obtain an audience with the president, shouldn’t the very prosecutors who would deal with these changes be heard by the man who ran as a champion of law and order?
