Former Trump aide Michael Caputo BLOWS UP at Senate Democrat/media collusion in Russia probe

During his closed testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee Tuesday, former Donald Trump campaign aide Michael Caputo ripped into the committee's Russia investigation, demanding that the investigators be investigated. Caputo assailed the committee for failing to disclose that a former Senate aide to a member of the committee financed work done by Fusion GPS — a subject of the committee's investigation — and has been briefing other Democrats on the committee.

Caputo says that the ongoing Russia investigation has inflicted great personal costs on him and his family.

"Your investigation and others into the allegations of Trump campaign collusion with Russia are costing my family a great deal of money — more than $125,000 — and making a visceral impact on my children," Caputo said. "Now I must to move back to Washington, New York City, Miami or elsewhere, just so I can make enough money to pay off these legal bills. And I know I have you to thank for that."

Caputo worked for the Trump campaign in 2016 as a senior adviser, New York state primary director, and communications director for caucus operations at the 2016 Republican National Convention. He is considered a witness in the Senate Russia probe and has been forced to retain attorneys for the duration of the investigation of the Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russia and possible collusion with the Russians to win the 2016 election. Caputo has denied any knowledge of collusion between Trump and the Russians.

In his statement, Caputo pointed to a former Democrat staffer to the committee, Daniel Jones, for working to advance the Russian collusion narrative and feeding information to special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation and Democrats on the committee. As Sean Davis reported for the Federalist, Jones formerly worked for Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., but left that position to run an investigative organization that hired Fusion GPS and ex-British spy Christopher Steele, raising millions of dollars from Democratic donors to push the Russian collusion narrative.

Caputo pointed out that Senator Mark Warner, D-Va., a member of the committee, has been briefed by Jones at least once. He also argued that Jones was one of two sources in a recent McClatchy report that claimed Trump personal lawyer Michael Cohen traveled to Prague during the 2016 campaign, a report that Cohen denies.

I saw some of his handiwork just last month. Remember this lede paragraph, from McClatchy on April 13?

"The Justice Department special counsel has evidence that Donald Trump’s personal lawyer and confidant, Michael Cohen, secretly made a late-summer trip to Prague during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to two sources familiar with the matter."

That’s your pal Dan, isn’t it? He came up with some kind of hollow proof that Michael Cohen was in Prague meeting with Russians when he wasn’t. He tried to sell that to reporters, and they didn’t buy it because it doesn’t check out. So, to get a reporter to write up his line of bull, he gave the documents to the Office of Special Counsel.

We know that’s likely, because he’s told people he’s briefing investigators.

So, technically, the special counsel’s office has evidence. Your pal Dan gave them more of the Democrats’ dossier, funded by more Democrats, provided again by Russian and British spies. Information no reporter would write up, but now there’s an angle: the special counsel has it. Now it’s a story.

Caputo speculated that somebody else connected to the Senate Intelligence Committee may be McClatchy's second source. He demanded an "investigation of the investigators" to find out who is "coordinating this attack on President Donald Trump" and who Jones is talking to across the various investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

"Forget about all the death threats against my family," Caputo said. "I want to know who cost us so much money, who crushed our kids, who forced us out of our home, all because you lost an election."

"I want to know because God damn you to hell."
