Hollywood celebs are back to lecturing us on guns

Conservative Review

Hollywood is bouncing back from the Harvey Weinstein scandal and diving straight into lecturing America on the evils of guns.

A video released Wednesday by Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America features big-name celebrities like Melissa McCarthy, Sheryl Crow, Julianne Moore, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Dern, Adam Scott, and many more instructing viewers on how to reach out to Congress and push for more gun control.

“The mass shooting in Las Vegas has all of us grieving, scared, and angry,” actress Emma Stone says as the video begins.

“Knowing what to do about it can be confusing. Here’s one thing that can make a difference right now,” adds former “Saturday Night Live” star Bill Hader.

That “one thing” that will do something about mass shootings, apparently, is killing a bill offered by Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., which is intended to help protect the hearing of sportsmen who use firearms. The Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act would loosen regulations on firearm sound suppressors.

In the video, these Hollywood liberals share a phone number that will get viewers in touch with their congressional representative and guide the viewer through a script declaring their opposition to the legislation.

These liberal celebrities are lazy and ignorant.

The SHARE Act has absolutely nothing to do with the act of unmitigated evil that killed nearly 60 people in Las Vegas. Even The Washington Post acknowledged that firearm sound suppressors were not relevant to mass shootings. They don’t “silence” guns. They don’t make weapons more dangerous. They just reduce the decibels of a shot fired so the marksman’s hearing isn’t damaged.

Ultimately, these actors and actresses are feigning activism for a nonissue by doing what they do best and reading from a script in front of a camera. Making sportsmen unable to buy sound suppressors won’t stop a single mass shooting; it’ll just contribute to America’s population of deaf people.
