Is there hope in the battle against baby-killers?

Is there hope in the battle against baby-killers?

Have you heard the one about the California bioscience companies that were recently ordered to pay $7.8 million and then close their doors forever after being caught illegally trafficking aborted baby body parts for profit?

Well, if you rely on the mainstream press for your daily news, the answer is almost certainly “of course not.”

“This settlement seized all profits from DV Biologics and DaVinci Biosciences, which they acquired by viewing body parts as a commodity and illegally selling fetal tissues for valuable consideration,” said Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas in a release from his office.

Crickets.

But remember back when the Center for Medical Progress’ David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt — the undercover investigators who exposed such criminal activity in the first place — were charged with multiple felony counts in both Texas and California? And Daleiden’s home was raided with the blessing of the California attorney general, as payback for their snooping around our American holocaust?

You bet you do, because the press was loud and proud to tell that story. Get out the bullhorns and the bold type.

Which raises the question: How can conservatives ever hope to effectively do battle in an environment where there is a better chance of nailing Jell-O to a wall than of having an honestly framed debate?

I mean, if a tree named “baby-killer” falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it because telling such a story is viewed as misogyny or theocratic, where exactly is our hope? Or as Harvey Dent/Two-Face once put it: “You thought we could be decent men in an indecent time.”

Yet the same character also once said, “It is always darkest before the dawn.” So let’s follow that paradox wherever it leads for the time being, as we consider other news from last week that the U.S. Department of Justice has launched an investigation into Planned Parenthood’s peddling in baby parts.

Maybe, just maybe, the heroic efforts and long-suffering of the Center for Medical Progress’ dynamic duo have laid the groundwork for the final frontal assault on Roe. After all, the charges mentioned above against Daleiden and Merritt were ultimately dropped in both states, after it was exposed that they were brought only to scare and harass on behalf of Planned Parenthood’s blood merchants.

Furthermore, the American press just got done having one of its worst weeks in recent memory, as several news agencies were forced to issue corrections on a slew of stories that brought into focus their ever-waning objectivity. More people than ever before understand how this feckless emperor has no clothes.

And now actual baby-parts-for-sale businesses have been shut down. Admittedly, the reason for doing so is something akin to getting Al Capone on tax evasion, but a path forward has been found nonetheless to combat the ghastly hubris of Planned Parenthood and its multiple satellites.

Until we can get the message across that murdering babies is murder, we need to take our moral kill shots to progressivism wherever we can find them. In the current situation, that means making Planned Parenthood choke on the cash it raises for selling dead babies.

These are indeed very desperate times. Our backs are up against a raging Red Sea with a pagan army bearing down on us. But isn’t that exactly when the greatest miracles happen?
