Levin eviscerates Bernie's 'democratic socialism': 'Those two words don't go together'

Conservative Review

Wednesday night on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin explained the harsh reality for some of the latest promises of "democratic socialism" offered by 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.

Earlier that day in Washington, D.C., Sanders gave a speech attempting to define his preferred economic ideology. He portrayed "democratic socialism" as an alternative to "oligarchy," in which he said a few families control large amounts of wealth.

In response, Levin noted how Sanders' statement ignores the vast amount of money in the federal government's $4 trillion budget: "No collection of families even come close to that."

The radio host also explained that people who have a lot of money in a capitalist economic system tend to invest that money, creating more jobs and more wealth for other people.

"Capitalism is the freest form, the greatest form, of distribution of wealth that has ever existed during mankind," Levin said.

Levin also pointed out that the notion of "democratic socialism" is a "fraud" because "those two words don't go together" and are "at odds with each other."

"Socialism is about government; socialism is about centralized control," Levin continued. "Socialism isn't about democracy, let alone republicanism."
