Rep. Ron DeSantis: Release the memo now!

On Friday, Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., called on Congress to declassify a memo outlining extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuses related to surveillance on the Donald Trump campaign during the 2016 election.

The "bombshell" memo was reported by Sara Carter and is said to contain revelations on how the Obama administration may have used the infamous Russian dossier to obtain a FISA warrant to surveil the Trump campaign and affect the outcome of the 2016 election.

"I think it's something that is really significant. I think that the American people need to see it," DeSantis said on Fox News. "The memo's done in such a way where you could easily make it public. It's classified top secret, but there aren't sources and methods here, so I don't think that would be a problem."

DeSantis said the memo leaves one big question unanswered, namely the exact relationship the man who compiled the dossier, british ex-spy Christopher Steele, had with the FBI. "If he was a paid source or he was somebody who was working with them, to go talk to the media — I mean that is just totally outrageous."

“They are trying to affect the outcome of the election. There’s no doubt about that’s what they were doing,” DeSantis said.
