UN anti-nuke hecklers inspired by Obama Iran deal propagandists

More than a dozen activists were arrested outside of the United Nations headquarters in New York City following a worldwide “ban the bomb” march funded largely by one of the most influential publicists for Obama’s Iran nuclear deal.

Monday afternoon, the rabble-rousers blockaded the entrance to the U.S. mission to the United Nations in protest of Washington’s decision to stay out of a nuclear weapons treaty. The development caused NYPD officers to take swift action, and 10 minutes into their attempted obstruction, after several warnings, the activists were arrested.

U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley announced in March that the U.S. had no interest in becoming a party to a nuclear ban treaty, given that it would force America to unilaterally disarm. The decision upset anti-American and disarmament activists, who view nuclear weapons as an inherent evil — especially in the hands of Americans.

The very same groups that helped sell the Iran deal to the American people (under false pretenses) had a hand in attempting to chip away at the national security of the United States. In the Trump era, however, their efforts have not caused any known policy changes.

The arrested activists’ protest comes just days after a worldwide-coordinated “Women’s March to Ban the Bomb” rally. Listed as one its largest funders was the Ploughshares Fund.

The Ploughshares Fund, a multimillion-dollar foundation that distributes cash to disarmament causes, supplied much of the money needed to fund proponents of President Obama’s nuclear deal with the terrorist regime in Tehran in 2015.

In an interview with The New York Times last year, Obama’s aide, Ben Rhodes, discussed how the previous White House administration partnered with Ploughshares to create an “echo chamber” to push the Iran deal.

“We had test drives to know who was going to be able to carry our message effectively, and how to use outside groups like Ploughshares, the Iran Project and whomever else. So we knew the tactics that worked,” Rhodes said.

Ploughshares receives heaps of cash from the far-left Rockefeller Foundation (to the tune of $4.4 million) and from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, much of which was used to fund networks of support for the Iran deal.

The Iran deal has not succeeded in reining in the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism. Worse, it has emboldened the worst elements in Tehran; Iran continues to fund and arm countless Middle East terrorist organizations. Sunday, the Iranian military launched a ballistic missile into Syria, and the country continues to increase its defense spending, thanks to a surplus from the billions in cash it received from the Obama administration.

Thankfully, Ploughshares is no longer a major player. The great harm the organization has done to the U.S. and its allies appears to be a thing of the past.

Under President Trump, the declining influence of Ploughshares is impossible not to see. In just a couple of years, Ploughshares has gone from having the ear of the White House to resorting to street hecklers in Manhattan.
