WTF MSM!? Trump called MS-13 thugs ‘animals,’ not all immigrants

Purposeful misinformation …

It’s the thugs … Yesterday President Donald Trump was asked by Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mimms about how to address her difficulties under California’s sanctuary state law in dealing with violent MS-13 gang members. Here’s the president’s response. It is perfectly clear that he is talking about those violent thugs and not immigrants in general when he says, “You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals.”

That didn’t stop the mainstream media from purposefully misrepresenting those remarks in headlines like this:

Those are just some of the ridiculous headlines about the statement. Politico’s Tim Alberta said the reason these headlines happened is because the president is often racist. Or maybe, Tim, you just don’t actually understand what he is saying and assume he is racist.

Not just the headlines … It wasn’t just the headlines; it was a whole host of media personalities who didn’t just stop at mischaracterization; they went full Godwin’s law, comparing Trump to Hitler. For example, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell: “Who said this, Hitler or Trump?” And CNN’s Ana Navarro: “Trump is in very bad company. Nazis referred to Jews as ‘rats’.” Then there was NYC Media Lab’s Justin Hendrix: “We’re in Hitler territory.”

I will give CNN’s Jake Tapper some credit here. He tweeted out the actual transcript of the remarks clearly showing that Trump was referring to the violent thugs and murderers of MS-13.

About MS-13 … A few weeks ago the Left was trying to say that the MS-13 problem wasn’t real, just a scare tactic of the Right. MSNBC’s Joy Reid was out front in the crusade. Fast-forward to this week, when noted right-wing demagogue Governor Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y., allocated an additional $7.5 M to fight the gang, most notably on Long Island. That is a significant sum for a problem that doesn’t exist.

Party all the time …

Sag Harbor is nice this time of year … East Coast elites of all types know the place to see and be seen over the summer is Long Island’s eastern tip. That’s where the Hamptons and places like tony Sag Harbor are. It’s also the place where media types invite their guests to party with them. You know, in a completely non-biased way.

For instance, CNN’s Don Lemon invited Stormy Daniels’ lawyer and frequent guest on his program to party with him at his Sag Harbor pad. The Federalist’s Sean Davis has a picture of a tweet that is now protected, showing Michael Avenatti partying it up at Lemon’s “soiree” in Sag Harbor.

This is an unvarnished look at how the media and those they cover are all in this together … if those they cover are attacking Trump or any other politician who isn’t to their liking.

Mollie slays … The ever-great Mollie Hemingway is back with a scathing look at the NYT’s puff piece on the FBI agents who took it upon themselves to open an investigation into the Trump campaign. Hemingway writes at The Federalist about “10 key takeaways from The New York Times’ error-ridden defense of FBI spying on Trump campaign.” Basically the piece actually confirmed a lot of what conservatives have been saying for a long time.

Bongino breaks it down … CRTV’s Dan Bongino broke down everything you need to know about the developments in the attempt by career bureaucrats to take down President Donald Trump. His podcast is always a must-listen, but especially today’s episode, “The whole scandal comes crashing down.”

One year …

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the start of the Mueller investigation of Donald Trump’s campaign. One year of breathless coverage of a nothingburger.
