Rockets GM Daryl Morey under fire after tweeting support for Hong Kong — NBA sides with Communist China's cash

China's control over America's businesses got just even worse

On the radio program Monday, Glenn Beck and Stu Burguiere discussed the furious backlash against Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, who has been raked over the coals after tweeting his support for pro- democracy protesters in Hong Kong last Friday.

Morey's now-deleted tweet read, "Fight for freedom. Stand with Hong Kong," in support of the hundreds of thousands of protesters who oppose a bill that would allow individuals in Hong Kong to be extradited to China for criticizing the communist regime. Demonstrations have become increasingly violent since they began in March of 2019.

Unfortunately for Morey, the NBA ranked human rights far lower on their list of priorities than China's cash. They immediately issued an apology, saying they are "extremely disappointed" in Morey's "inappropriate comment" and that the tweet did not "represent the stance of the Rockets or the NBA."
