San Francisco residents were appalled when a United Airlines plane appeared to barely miss hitting the Golden Gate bridge. According to a CNN video, the plane was part of a marketing ploy during a recent air show:

The fly-over was reportedly part of last week's San Francisco Fleet Week. United was a sponsor of the event.
