Coast Guard Becomes Latest Shooting Target

According to police reports, at least one gunshot was fired overnight Monday at a Coast Guard recruiting office in Prince William County, Va. Though police have made no official confirmation that this shooting is connected to a recent series of incidents targeting other military locations in the area-- such as the Pentagon and the Marine Corps Museum -- the shooting at the Coast Guard office appears to be strikingly similar.

The Coast Guard recruitment center is located near Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, Va. According to local news accounts, employees of the center all escaped injury, finding evidence of the shooting only when they arrived at work Tuesday morning.

"I can tell you that the glass was not broken," Prince William County Police spokeswoman Kim Chinn said. "It has been damaged. I don't know how many shots have been fired."

Law enforcement officials, including the FBI, are investigating. It was not immediately known if this incident is related to several other shootings at military establishments in that area. All four of those previous shootings have been linked, police said Tuesday.
