Time to redistribute Super Bowls

Ok, ok. Scott and Jon have been going back and forth with Steelers vs. Packers, Packers vs. Steelers, and I fully expect their gridiron rivalry to continue until game day. But I think it's about time someone stood up and spoke up for the little guy.

We can't all have superstar football teams. Some of us (namely me) come from states like Michigan and are left to root for unfortunate teams like the Detroit Lions through no fault of our own.

The Lions practice just as hard as the Steelers and the Packers, don't they? They break the same bones and pull the same muscles. But -- and I think my good friend Franny Piven would agree with me here -- some teams just face unfair disadvantages that others don't.

Year after year we've watched other teams go to the Super Bowl and relish in all the glory.

Isn't it our job, nay, our civic duty to redistribute Super Bowl victories so that everyone gets a chance?

Tell you what -- to sweeten the deal, let the Lions go to the Super Bowl and we'll let you have a crack at next season's worst losing record.  Sound fair?
