Huffington Post mixes plumber's crack with Iranian protests

There are a couple ways to look at the following headline and picture currently featured on the front page of the Huffington Post.

1. It's clever

2. It's funny

3. It's not funny because HuffPo is mocking the Iranian protesters

4. It's not funny because its tasteless

5. It's probably an unfortunate accident

6. It's a mixture of all, or some, of the above

The front page in question features a picture of an Iranian protester throwing a rock while his pants are falling down with the headline, "Crackdown." Underneath the picture the subheading says "At Least 2 Reported Dead":

We've reached out to HuffPo to get to the bottom of it.* In the meantime, what do you think? Vote below:

Note: Originally, we had a "survey" up, which didn't allow readers to see the poll's results. We've changed that. The results of the survey were 62% said it was tasteless, 22% said probably an accident, 8% said not a big deal, and 7% said funny and clever.

*UPDATE:

According to an initial response from HuffPo, the picture may have been an accident. "I don't believe that was intentional," Carly Schwartz told The Blaze in an e-mail. She did say she would look into it, however.

As soon as we get a more concrete answer, we'll let you know.

UPDATE II:

The picture on HuffPo's front page has now been cropped. The bottom border of the picture has been moved up so that the protester's butt crack is no longer visible, as seen below:

Unfortunately, now it looks like the man has no pants on.
